Jani, 10-year-old from Helsinki, was awarded $10,000 from Facebook after alerting the social media company that he was able to alter the code and remove comments made by Instagram users. Facebook purchased Instagram for $1 billion in 2012. The aspiring security expert has become the youngest recipient of the “bug bounty” prize for discovery a program's security flaws. Jani says he plans to use the money to buy a new bike. Since 2011, Facebook has paid $4.3 million to 800 “bug bounty” recipients with an average payout of $1,780.
